After I posted my www.geocaching.com down, I noticed that others on Vox also had some posts:
Another click on the "play" button and I was led to:
***CLICK*** and I ended up with a google warning:
Thank you Google. You saved my day.
Well, in fact maybe my Internet Guard ***could*** have saved me from some malicious programs but its nice Big G also has a look ;)
So always be aware - if something bigger happens there are people out there who try to get their profit from big news...
PM: Might also be a false warning *but* better one warning too much than one less.
Somehow it seems that Vox doesnt accept many of my mobile log entries.
For example this morning I sended a picture from my room in the hotel:
All I got from Vox (or better from Google) has been an error mail:
However you can follow my updates also using this link: http://brightkite.com/people/Eol/friendstream
Enjoy.
I hate WYSIWYNG editors (what you see is what you never get)
Even Vox is no exception, thats also the cause most of my posts have centered pictures, because Vox doesn't really handle paragraphs ...
Here you see the view of the Vox Editor
Here You can see the reality (after closing the editor):
The bulleted paragraph ("Coverage") should be down of the picture. That forces one to edit a post several times (adding randomly Enters OR just use the "take all space and center the picture" tactic ...
Editing it sometimes would be not that crucial. But I also have an RSS daemon posting my posts to Twitter, that make the post appear 10 ten times if I edit it ten times ...
Sometimes its funny how (really) good features can go unnoticed because theres still not the time of reading all the stuff - RTFM is a nice tip, but there are so many things and reading all the manuals would consume 30 hrs a day.
Nice. VOX celebrated one year and I am on it now since beta.
I didn't notice but thanks to find time to read a lil' on Junior's Vox I noticed, so the obligatory:
Happy Birthday Vox - keep on the good work !
I personally like it that "we" first users got a badge to prove our curiousness. Its not that bad by now even my GMail account still is (guess what?).
BETA.
Its no longer since (I guess Google started it ...) that Beta applications are what they used to be. Its more or less a brand by itself it seems.
On the other hand its fun trying out new features (well, in the open source community its also "usual" - I know projects which never reached version 1.0 - ZWiki for example - developed since 1999 (!) has now "reached" version 0.59; as its more mature than many many 1.0+ versions of other programs).
Thanks to Madeline for pointing out theres new beta fun at vox.
